Real Estate Licensing – Fingerprints Required

As a soon-to-be real estate agent, you have several important details to take care of before getting licensed. The biggest, of course, is passing your pre-licensing course from a Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) approved real estate school.

During the time that you are completing the educational portion, you will need to apply for your real estate license with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).

As part of the application process, the FREC requires that you complete a fingerprint-based background check. Only when you have your background check completed, and your application finished, will you be able to sit for your final exam.

Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisal licensing in Florida is regulated by the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB) and includes classroom hours and experience registered under a certified appraiser. The Florida state requirements to become a certified residential real estate appraiser can be found on the DBPR website here: http://myfloridalicense.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/498/kw/FREC%20Faqs
