Plancher Security provides professional, in-person Florida Class D Unarmed Security Officer Training at our Fort Myers, Florida training location. The course is conducted by a Florida-licensed Security Officer Training Instructor (DI) and is designed to provide students with the required training and practical knowledge needed to pursue a Florida Class D Security Officer License.
★ COURSE DETAILS
Course instruction covers essential security topics, including security officer responsibilities, physical security, access control, terrorism awareness, emergency procedures, report writing, interviewing techniques, crime prevention, accident prevention, and professional conduct. Course materials and instruction are designed to comply with applicable requirements under Florida Statutes Chapter 493 and Florida Administrative Code Chapter 5N-1.
ALL courses offered are led by experienced, Florida-licensed Security Officer Training Instructors (DI), providing professional instruction and guidance throughout every class.

The onsite program consists of the 40-hour Class D training course plus the final examination, completed over five consecutive training days. The end-of-course examination is administered on the final day. Full attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Students should register only if they are able to attend the complete course schedule.

★ STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
▸ Be at least 18 years of age.
▸ Present a valid U.S. state- or federal-issued photo ID.
▸ Meet applicable Florida eligibility requirements for a Class D Security Officer License.
▸ Complete all required training hours and the end-of-course examination.
▸ Pass the final examination with a score of 75% or higher.

★ COURSE OUTCOME -- Upon successful completion of the required training and final examination, students will receive the appropriate Certificate of Completion (FDACS Form 16062) documenting completion of Class D security officer training. Students may then apply to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Division of Licensing, for a Florida Class D Security Officer License. Once properly licensed, individuals may pursue employment as unarmed security officers with licensed security agencies throughout Florida.
Please Note: Completion of the training course does not itself constitute issuance of a Class D license. Licensing is handled separately by FDACS. State application, fingerprinting, licensing, and other applicable fees are not included in the course tuition unless specifically stated.
